It is with great pleasure that this week we highlight a new Femme d’Hockey M2 Assurance Star: Shawlee Gaudreault! A women’s advisor with Advancement Hockey Advising (AHA), Shawlee has been a hockey fan her whole life!

SHAWLEE GAUDREAULT: Hockey, not just a sport, but a passion!

Her vocation was forged when she was only 10 years old. After a 10-0 loss in a Timbits game, Shawlee found her passion as a goalie. This was followed by a successful career at the Junior AA level in Ottawa and then at the USport level.

When we say that hockey is not just played on the ice, Shawlee is a great example. All of her time was spent playing hockey on and off the ice and still is today! She currently spends her energy coaching goaltenders at different levels as well as being a big sister to the players on the team.

Turning passion into a profession

In an effort to develop the communication skills of coaches to allow positive discussions with players, Shawlee Gaudreault has joined the AHA team as a mentor.

In addition, in this job, she also assists young athletes who wish to reach the college or university level. Whether it is to help them identify their academic interests outside of hockey (which can be more difficult than one might think) or to support them in their endeavours, Shawlee is always there for them.

Finally, one of Shawlee’s goals is to help young players deal with the challenges and difficulties of being a teenager. The girls’ hockey progress and their simple joy in doing what they are passionate about is what makes Shawlee happy to be part of such a community.

CONGRATULATIONS TO SHAWLEE GAUDREAULT ON HER NOMINATION!

M2 ASSURANCE AND INTACT ARE PROUD TO PRESENT HER WITH A $50 GIFT CARD AND A SOUVENIR FROM THE FEMME D’HOCKEY STORE!

Femme d’Hockey would like to thank the Advancement Hockey Advising team. Thanks to them, we can highlight Shawlee’s involvement in women’s hockey.
